Word&Way Pricing Changing in 2019
After several years without a shift in subscription prices, some changes are coming in 2019 — but group subscribers and those buying multi-year subscriptions can actually save money.
The new subscription plan follows several postal increases for publications, as well as improvements in Word&Way including more color and 33% more pages in the magazine since March 2017.
Starting Jan. 1, the price for an individual subscription will increase from $17.50 to $19.95 for a one-year subscription (12 issues). However, discounted rates for individuals buying two or three-year subscriptions will actually result in an annual rate lower than the current level.
Here are the new individual rates (effective Jan. 1, 2019):
- 1 year (12 issues): $19.95
- 2 years (24 issues): $34.90 (saves 12.5% or $5)
- 3 years (36 issues): $49.85 (save 16.7% or $10)
In addition to the discounts for individuals buying muti-year subscriptions, there will also be new discounts for groups or bulk subscriptions, saving readers and churches money on as little as two subscriptions.
New group/bulk rates (effective Jan. 1, 2019):
- Group size of 2-5 persons: $15.95 each (save 20% or $4 each)
- Group size of 6-9 persons: $13.95 each (save 30% or $6 each)
- Group size of 10-49 persons: $11.95 each (save 40% or $8 each)
- Group size of 50+ persons: $7.95 each (save 60% or $12 each)
Additionally, Word&Way is starting to work with Cambey & West, an expert in Christian magazine fulfillment services. Later this month, Cambey & West will assume the lead in managing subscription renewals, invoices and related questions. Their dedicated staff will answer subscription mail, email and phone calls as they work with us to provide the best experience for subscribers.
“We look forward to this improvement in our services offered to our readers,” Word&Way Editor Brian Kaylor said. “This change is a cost-effective way of improving our services to our subscribers. The people at Cambey & West are experts in this work — and currently also partner with some of the biggest Christian magazines. They will do what they do best and we will do what we do best — providing quality news of importance to Baptists in the Midwest and beyond.”
