LIBERTY, Mo. — William Jewell College will begin a nationwide search during the 2015-16 academic year to replace President David Sallee, who will retire in August 2016.
The college’s 14th president took the helm in August 2000. He has guided the institution to raise its profile, enhance its partnership with Kansas City, increase its technology, open its programs to a more diverse student body and increase resources for students.
Under his leadership, the college has added the Pryor Center for Leadership Development, Shumaker Hall and the Pryor Learning Commons.
Sallee earned a doctor of philosophy degree in adult and higher education at the University of Oklahoma, a master of science degree in physical education at Pittsburg State University and a bachelor of arts degree in physical education at Oklahoma Baptist University.
