What we read has the power to mold our hearts, minds, and actions in the ways of Jesus. That’s why Word&Way hosts a monthly book club to introduce members of our community to inspiring authors and their ideas. Here’s how it works:
1. Each month we will select an exciting book related to faith, politics, and culture.
2. Participants purchase the volume through their favorite bookseller.
3. Readers then sign up for a virtual discussion time on Eventbrite.
The small registration fee for the expertly facilitated discussion sections helps sustain both the book club and our ongoing ministry. Here are the books for June and July:
July Selection
Our book for July is In Defense of Kindness: Why It Matters, How It Changes Our Lives, and How It Can Save the World by Bruce Reyes-Chow.
The Presbyterian pastor and author Bruce Reyes-Chow believes we – Christians, the Church, U.S. Society – need to recover the virtue of kindness. Instead of being a sign of weakness, he argues that kindness holds immense potential to transform us and the places we find ourselves.
Grab a copy of the book and enjoy the read (you can save 20% off the cover price by clicking here and entering the code “KIND20” at check out). Then register for a discussion time (we have lowered the cost to just $15):
