Individuals who remarry face challenges first-marrieds usually do not. The church can help them with those challenges and minister to them and their families.

The Ferguson Commission was created by executive order of Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon on Nov. 18 to study the underlying issues raised by the Aug. 9 shooting death of an unarmed black teen, Michael Brown Jr., in a confrontation with white Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson and by a grand jury’s determination less than three months later that there was not sufficient cause to indict the officer. The commission has been and is listening to St. Louis-area residents to determine far-reaching recommendations for a report to be released by Sept. 15.

Two local church pastors are leading their congregations to live out “kingdom culture” as expressed in the Lord’s Prayer — “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
