(RNS) — Anne Graham Lotz's journey has been a tough one lately: A year ago, three years after the death of her husband and six months after the funeral of her famous evangelist father, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. But she has refused to give up hope.

The good news: Food insecurity in the U.S. declined in 2018 to pre-recession (2007) levels. The bad news: 11.1% of households (14.3 million) remained food insecure -- 13.9% among U.S. households with children.
