Bridgeton — Missouri Baptist Children's Home board members honored a longtime trustee, adopted budgets and elected new board members on Oct. 10.
Meeting on the Children's Home main campus at Bridgeton, trustees agreed with the MBCH professional development institute board to name an ongoing seminar series for Werner Strick.
Currently pastor of First Baptist Church, Wright City, Strick has served the Children's Home for more than 30 years in several capacities, including as a member of the full board, as a member of MBCH auxiliary boards and through the institute.
He currently is chairman of the PDI board.
MBCH trustees noted Strick was instrumental in establishing the institute last year. The institute offers the seminars for the public and for continuing education for childcare, medical and other professionals.
Trustees approved an MBCH budget of $1,791,571 for 2007. The new budget reflects an anticipated decrease in revenue that administrators believe will be offset in new state tax credits through the children and family ministries budget.
Trustees approved the children and family ministries board 2007 budget of $10,737,964. They also approved electing Leah Capps, Thomas Sneed and Carolyn Suyderhoud to five-year terms on that board.
Board members also approved a 2007 budget of $1,131,887 for the PDI board and a $278,625 2007 budget for the properties board.
Betty Cox and Charles Haubold were elected to the PDI board, with Janet Dyer, John Wilkins and Kenneth Raye going to the properties board. They will each serve a five-year term.
In other action, the MBCH board approved offering its employees a Roth retirement option through GuideStone Financial Resources. (10-19-06)
