Paul Gibson on Jan. 1 became the new executive minister of Great Rivers Region of American Baptist Churches, headquartered in Springfield, Ill. GRR includes about 230 churches across Illinois and Missouri, except Chicago.
Paul GibsonHe comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Bismarck, N.D. He also has served churches in Arizona, Nevada and Missouri.
Gibson holds an M.Div. degree from the American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkley, Calif. He is a graduate of Valley City (N.D.) State University and has done graduate work toward a D.Min. degree from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minn.
He and his wife, Melissa, are the parents of two grown children.
