The Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists elected a new executive director Oct. 16. David Manner, associate state executive director since 2012 and on staff with the convention since 2000, will assume the role March 1. He will succeed Bob Mills who announced his retirement in earlier this year.
Manner told Baptist Press he wants “the state convention to be seen as more of a partner than just as a resource by our associations, campus ministries, and churches.”
A native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Manner and his wife Karen, a school teacher, have been married for nearly 40 years and have one adult daughter and son-in-law. Manner holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctorate of worship studies from Robert E. Webber Institute of Worship Studies.
Started in 1945, the KNCSB includes more than 460 congregations.
