Rev. Charles Chester Stigers, 98, died Feb. 28 at Kansas City Hospice House.

SBU JudyTaylor Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo., will close on Wednesday, March 30, at noon so that students and employees can attend a celebration of life service for First Lady Judy Taylor, who died March 26 in Bolivar at the age of 69.

Dwight Clifford Clark, 84, died Jan. 31 at his home in Independence, Mo., with his wife by his side.

Elizabeth WallsThe William Jewell College Board of Trustees has named Elizabeth MacLeod Walls as the 15th president of the college. She will succeed David Sallee, who will retire July 31 after serving as president since 2000. Her appointment is effective July 1.
