CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ABP) – With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaching – and falling on a Sunday – many churches are planning special observances.
The Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America is offering free resources for worship and devotion titled Remembering September 11. Poems, a hymn, litanies, sample sermon and prayer suggestions are in PDF format at bpfna.org.
The Baptist Center for Ethics has revised and updated resources first produced in 2005 – the first time the anniversary of the terrorist attacks fell on a Sunday – for use on the 10th anniversary. The guide brings together a variety of church leaders offering litanies, prayers, hymns, sermon outlines and more. To order, go to the BCE website, EthicsDaily.com.
