A proposed bill in Missouri would require anyone filing a church/state separation lawsuit to use their real names in court documents and public hearings. During a public hearing on HB728, Freedom From Religion Foundation’s attorney Ryan Jayne cited instances where this could endanger the lives of those who lose anonymity.
A spokesperson for the Missouri Baptist Convention downplayed the danger, saying, “do they really think people of faith in Missouri are violent people?”
