virtual realityFrom the ocean’s depths to the views from space, our world offers beautiful scenes, diversity of life and jaw-dropping sights. At first we could only communicate these sights by words and stories, but technology advances have added images and color, sound and movement.

Ken crop webYears ago I found a storage room full of cassette tapes and plastic mailers from a time when Word & Way used to provide an audio version for the visually impaired, a service made possible through the Wolfner Talking Books and Braille Library.

People by nature have wanted to name things since the Garden of Eden. If it isn’t finding shapes in the cloud or identifying a taste, it’s giving significance to days, weeks and months.

This is the year I’m going to get organized!
